The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a specialised unit dedicated to providing advanced critical care for infants, children, and adolescents suffering from serious illnesses, severe infections, trauma, respiratory disorders, neurological emergencies, and post-operative complications. The unit is designed to offer continuous monitoring, rapid intervention, and comprehensive paediatric critical care services in a safe and child-friendly environment.
There are 6 beds in our paediatric ICU. In order to assist critically ill children, the PICU is well-equipped with advanced monitors, defibrillators, ventilators, and life-support systems. The PICU is centralized with suction and oxygen supply systems to ensure uninterrupted emergency care and continuous patient monitoring.
The hospital ward is adequately supplied with emergency medications and advanced infusion pumps for precise administration of fluids and drugs. Skilled nursing staff and senior resident doctors are available round the clock to provide specialized paediatric intensive care and immediate medical attention whenever required.
The PICU team follows evidence-based treatment protocols and works closely with paediatricians, intensivists, surgeons, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care for critically ill children. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the care of premature, low birth weight, critically ill, and high-risk newborn babies. The NICU provides advanced neonatal critical care services with modern equipment, specialized monitoring systems, and experienced healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for newborns requiring intensive medical support.
There is a state-of-the-art 21 bedded NICU in the hospital. The NICU has two separate sections — one for babies born inside the hospital and another for babies referred from outside healthcare facilities. This arrangement ensures proper infection control, specialized care, and efficient management of neonatal emergencies.
The unit is equipped with advanced monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, Bubble CPAP systems, and centralized oxygen and suction facilities for the critical management of neonates. The Bilirubinometer is available for monitoring neonatal jaundice and assessing bilirubin levels in newborn babies.
Senior residents, junior residents, technicians, and specially trained neonatal nurses are available round the clock to provide continuous care and emergency support for critically ill newborns. The NICU team works closely with obstetricians, paediatricians, and neonatologists to ensure timely interventions and holistic neonatal care.
