The Emergency and Casualty Department provides comprehensive 24x7 emergency medical services for patients requiring immediate medical attention and life-saving interventions. The department is designed to handle all types of medical, surgical, trauma, pediatric, obstetric, and critical emergencies with rapid assessment, prompt stabilization, and advanced emergency care facilities.
There are 30 beds in emergency/casualty, including 6 beds in the casualty department’s triage area where patients are categorized according to treatment priority based on the severity of their condition. The emergency ward consists of 24 beds with 2 beds reserved exclusively for critically ill patients where ventilators, defibrillators, crash carts, and all essential emergency medications are readily available for immediate intervention.
The department is fully equipped with central oxygen supply and central suction facilities to support emergency and critical care management. Advanced monitoring systems including bedside monitors, pulse oximeters, infusion pumps, glucometers, and emergency diagnostic equipment are available for continuous patient assessment and treatment.
Round the clock, Casualty Medical Officers are available and are assisted by specialists from various departments to provide timely diagnosis and treatment. The department is supported by highly trained nurses, ward boys, and Ayas in every shift to ensure efficient patient care and emergency response at all times.
There is an ABG machine for blood gas analysis exclusively for the emergency department, enabling rapid evaluation of critically ill patients and assisting clinicians in immediate decision-making. The department also maintains strict infection control practices and emergency preparedness protocols to ensure patient safety and quality healthcare delivery.
